Privacy statement

We are committed to providing you clarity on how we handle your personal data. We inform you of this in this privacy declaration. This privacy statement applies to all persons with whom Gebr. Bodegraven B.V. (GB) communicates and from whom GB processes personal data, with the exception of persons employed by GB.

What is personal data?

Personal data are all data that can be traced back to a person. Examples include your name, address, telephone number and account number but photographs and biometric data are also personal data.

For what purposes do we use your information?

We use your personal data for the following purposes:

  • Fulfilling an enquiry. If you request a quotation or enter into an agreement with us, this will at least include your contact details. Other personal data may also be necessary for the execution of the agreement, depending on the nature of the agreement. In addition, the data are used for invoicing the products delivered/provided services.
  • Maintaining contact with you (customer management). Your contact details are maintained in our customer system and may be used for, inter alia, sending: 
     
    • Newsletters
    • Product information (price and range changes)
    • Updates
    • Invitations to meetings, events or participation in surveys
    • Sending you information that you have requested from us
       
  • Answering questions or resolving product or service complaints, as well as informing you of their status.
  • Improving our product and service information and carrying out targeted marketing campaigns. We consider it important to approach you with information that is relevant to you. To make this possible, we record your areas of interest in our customer database.
  • Improving and securing our website and IT systems.
  • Creating user statistics of our websites: www.GB.nl and https://kozijnverbindingen.gb.nl, hereinafter referred to as the GB websites. The user statistics of the website(s) enable us to obtain a picture of, among other things, the number of visitors, duration of the visit, which parts of the website are viewed and click behaviour. These are generic reports, without information on individual persons. We use the information obtained to improve the website(s).
  • Access control and company security. If you visit our premises, we record your name on arrival. Camera images are also taken outside and inside the building. We do this to know who is in the building and on the premises in case of emergencies and to ensure that unauthorised persons do not gain access.
  • Using our wifi network. While visiting our premises, you can use the GB wifi network. Once you have logged on to our wifi network, data such as the identification number (MAC address) of your device is automatically collected. We only use this data to prevent possible misuse. Should illegal activities take place from our WiFi network, we can block the access of the device you are using to our WiFi network.
  • To comply with legal obligations incumbent on us.

In general, we only process your personal data for the purposes we have told you about. Where we use your data for other (closely related) purposes, additional data protection measures are incorporated if required by law.

On what 'legal grounds' do we process your data?

We process your data because:

  • we either need it to enter into or perform the contract with you
  • or because we are legally obliged to do so
  • with your consent
  • or because we (or a third party) have a legitimate interest in doing so

If we have requested your consent to process your personal data and you have granted such consent, you also have the right to withdraw consent at any time. If we process personal data on the basis of legitimate interest, we must not disproportionately infringe your privacy. For example, we use your contact data to send newsletters and information material and to invite you to events. In these marketing campaigns, we do not process any special personal data from you.

What personal data do we process?

GB processes personal data that you have provided to us yourself, personal data generated during your visit to our website(s) or our premises and personal data we have derived from other sources, such as public business websites.

GB may process the following personal data provided by you:

  • Contact details and other personal data necessary for the performance of the agreement entered into with you, for example a purchase/sale agreement;
  • Contact details and other personal data entered on contact forms and other web forms;
  • Contact data provided during introductory meetings, events, seminars, etc. such as data mentioned on business cards.

In addition, we may collect personal data generated by our website, electronic newsletters, via cookies or similar techniques, including but not limited to:

  • Your cookie ID;
  • Your web browser;
  • Your location;
  • Our advertisements that you view or click through.

GB may also obtain your personal data from other sources:

  • Personal data available if you are a customer of GB's group companies or partners;
  • Personal data obtained from the Trade Register of the Chamber of Commerce or other public registers;
  • Personal data available on public business websites or business Social Media platforms. We will only process personal data obtained from these sources if it is legally permitted and consistent with the purpose for which it was provided.

Statitics and profiling

We keep statistics on the use of our website. We use these statistics to improve our website in order, for example, to display only relevant information. We may combine your personal data to find out more about you. Naturally, we will respect your privacy at all times. If you do not want this, you can always inform us. To do this, we use your IP address and cookies. We do this on the basis of your consent.

Contact form and newsletter

The contact form allows you to ask us questions and via various pages on our GB websites we may ask you to provide personal data for a specific purpose, such as requesting a brochure or technical advice.

For this purpose, we use your e-mail address, IP address, telephone number and name and address details. We need this data to be able to answer your question or process your request.

You can subscribe to our newsletter. It contains news, offers, tips and information about our products and services. You can cancel this subscription at any time. Every newsletter contains an unsubscribe link.

Your e-mail address will only be added to the list of subscribers with your permission.

Reclame

GB uses the data provided through the GB websites to keep you informed about offers and new products or services. We do this:

  • by post
  • by e-mail
  • via social media
  • by telephone

You can object to this advertising at any time. Each letter tells you how to do so. Each e-mail contains an unsubscribe link. You can block us or use the unsubscribe option. You can indicate this when you are called.

Disclosure to other companies or institutions

We do not provide the (personal) data you provide to other parties, unless this is necessary within the framework of the execution of the agreement, if this is necessary for the GB websites or to comply with a legal obligation.

How long do we keep your personal data?

We do not retain your personal data for longer than is necessary to achieve the aforementioned purposes, or to comply with laws and regulations.

Will your data be taken outside the eu?

GB's basic principle is to process personal data only within the EU. As the AVG applies within the EU, this means that, in principle, an adequate level of protection can always be ensured.

Automated decisions/profiling

GB does not use automated individual decision-making as this is not necessary for our services. This means, for example, that GB does not engage in profiling.

Your rights

You can exercise the following rights: 

  • The right of inspection: you have the right to access what personal data we process about you.
  • The right of rectification: if the personal data we process about you is incorrect, you have the right to have it amended.
  • he right of deletion: if we no longer need your personal data for the purpose for which we obtained it, you have the right to ask us to delete it. There are some exceptions to this, such as our duty to keep certain data for the tax authorities, for example.
  • The right of restriction: during the period we are in the process of determining whether your data should be rectified, determining the (un)lawfulness of data processing, determining whether data should be deleted or you have objected to processing, you have the right to request the restriction of processing.
  • The right of data portability: at your request, we must transfer all personal data we hold about you to you or another organisation of your choice. You can only exercise this right if the data is processed pursuant to consent or agreement.
  • The right to object: if we process data on the grounds of legitimate interest or public interest, it is possible to object after which a balancing of interests will follow. In the case of direct marketing, you always have the right to object.

When you view the GB websites, you may come across links to other websites for your convenience and information. These websites may not be operated by GB and may have their own privacy statements or policies. We strongly encourage you to read these so that you understand how your personal data will be used in relation to these sites. We are neither responsible for the content of sites that are not owned and controlled by GB, nor for the use or privacy policies of those sites.

How we protect your personal data

As the security of personal data is very important, GB has implemented various appropriate technical and organisational measures to ensure that personal data cannot be misused or otherwise fall into the hands of the wrong person.
